Northwest Region

The Northwest Regional Development Agency

NWDA
The Northwest Regional Development Agency is responsible for the sustainable economic development and regeneration of England's Northwest and has 5 key priorities: Business Development, Regeneration, Skills & Employment, Infrastructure and Image.

NWDA is working with regional colleages to develop a 'Wider Waste Action Plan', to support the regional Waste Strategy, which was produced by the North West Regional Assemby in 2004. This Action Plan will focus on identifying specific, realistic actions to guide the Northwest away from unsustainable waste management practices for wider wastes by reducing current dependency on landfill, moderating the growth in waste arisings, minimising resource use, maximising resource efficiency and reducing the hazardous content of waste. The REEIO model will be used to inform the development of this Action Plan.
