SCPnet support the development and use of modelling tools which help the Sustainable Consumption and Production network partners understand the links between regional economies, household consumption and the environment. Currently there are two tools which help us understand those links: REEIO and REAP.

Each model is focussed on a different issue, and do remember that these are only models, tools to help us analyse the situation. Models cannot solve problems on their own! Both REEIO and REAP now allow SCPnet partners to try "what if" scenarios and forecast the possible effects of different policy actions.

REAP

REAP considers consumption by households and public as well as commercial services, wherever the consumed products may come from and wherever environmental impacts may occur - "consumer responsibility". Read more

REEIO

The REEIO was the key output from the REWARD project, and is a new and powerful computer tool for regional strategy and policy appraisal. This model links economic policy and environmental impact and provides a technical foundation for any regional toolkit. Read more.
