Washington family are “Footprinted” for film to be shown at North East environmental report launch

A Washington family have had their lives put under the ‘green microscope’ as part of a new report which looks at the environmental impacts of consumption and production in the North East. Sarah Brown, a mother of two from Lambton, Washington, Sunderland, and her family have had their individual environmental Footprint analysed to coincide with the launch of the Ecological Budget North East – Counting Consumption report which is unveiled at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Friday May 26. Ecological Budget UK provides a much needed evidence base to better understand the important issues of Sustainable Consumpion and Production (SCP). Counting Consumption provides a clear picture of the CO2 emissions, material flows and Ecological Footprint of the UK by region and devolved country. The report also provides a statistical and scientific basis for SCP strategies in the UK at national and regional levels. Read more
